USES:

This medicine is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor used to treat sexual function problems such as impotence or erectile dysfunction. In combination with sexual stimulation, this medicine works by helping the blood flow into the penis to achieve and maintain an erection. This medicine is not intended for use in women or children. This medicine will not protect against sexually transmitted diseases including HIV infection. Use "safe sex" practices such as latex condoms. Contact your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

HOW TO USE:

Levitra is taken orally when needed between 4.30 hrs and 30 minutes before sexual activity. Take Levitra only as directed, usually once daily as needed. Levitra works along with sexual stimulation to help achieve an erection.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Headache, flushing, upset stomach, stuffy nose, urinary tract infection, visual changes such as mild and temporary changes in blue/green colors or increased sensitivity to light, and diarrhea.

PRECAUTIONS:

One should have a complete medical history and exam to determine the cause of his impotence before taking Levitra. Men who have medical conditions that may cause a sustained erection such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia or multiple myeloma or who have an abnormally shaped penis may not be able to take Levitra. There are several medications that are known to interact with Levitra, so be sure to tell your doctor about all medications you are taking including those you can get without a prescription. DRUG INTERACTIONS:

Before taking Levitra consult your doctor about all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially any nitrate medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate), nitroprusside (any "nitric oxide donor" medicines), cimetidine, erythromycin, azole antifungals (e.g., itraconazole, ketoconazole), mibefradil, rifamycins (e.g., rifampin) or high blood pressure medicines.

OVERDOSE:

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include irregular or unusually slow or fast heartbeat, unusual nervousness or excitement, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, and seizures.

NOTES:

Vardenafil should not be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Vardenafil can interact with grapefruit and grapefruit juice, and the interaction may have dangerous effects. You should discuss the use of grapefruit and grapefruit juice with your doctor. Do not take any other drug used to treat impotence, such as alprostadil (Caverject, Muse, Edex) or yohimbine (Yocon, Yodoxin, others), without first talking to your doctor.

MISSED DOSE:

Vardenafil is used as needed, so you are not likely to miss a dose.
